A Novel Security System for Preventing DoS Attacks on 4G LTE Networks

چکیده

With the emergence of new 4G LTE network, many new security threats have also appeared. Unlike 2G and 3G, 4G uses IP based communication. Due to the excessive internet usage in mobile infrastructure, it has been exposed to various internet-based attacks and security risks of which our focus is on the internet access interface also called the GI interface which is responsible for connecting the mobile device to internet and exposing the device to a variety of web threats including DoS (Denial of Service) attacks, malware etc. In this paper, different causes and effects of DoS flooding attacks are studied and a comparative study of various DoS mitigation techniques is carried out then a novel technique is proposed for the prevention or reduction of these attacks to create a secure network by implementing a firewall in the network which keeps track of every IP address of connecting device and provide services to each host based on the set threshold.
